DUO RIDE: Baras / Sierra Hotel (Out and back)
Enrico's first ride up to Sierra Madre Hotel.
Alarm sounds at 3:30am. Snooze. For 2 hours.
So much for, "on the saddle at 5:30am." I call and he's already at the meeting point while I'm at home. An hour away. By car.
I make my way carefully and safely up the Marilaque Highway until I finally spot Enrico at about 9k from what would have been the turnaround halfway point of a 49k ride.
I park at Masungi Georeserve which is reserved for customers only, but the attendant agrees to give me a pass after I tell him a short sob story about how I'm late to a bike ride.

Finally on the saddle and I catch up to Enrico. 6:46am. I forgot how smooth and wide these roads are!

After only a few minutes of riding, we stop for a quick drink and bite to eat. Running low, Enrico apparently has been riding since 4am, from Katipunan. Harkor!
He has RC Cola and some non-spicy "Spicy Beef Cornik." We talk about married life.
Enrico's Photo.
Hassan Shawarma wrap and bulalo with rice for breakfast. And a couple of old dogs waiting for leftovers. I learn something new from Enrico. You can tell a dog is old if they have grey whiskers!
After a few more BAAW photos, we head back down to Masungi and Enrico decides to hitch until SM Marikina. Good decision. Cogeo and Masinag at 10:30am on a Sunday will burn through the bulalo and erase whatever happiness it gives.
Back home! What a ride (for Enrico)! Sorry, kabsat.
The plan was to do 49k. I ended up doing 18k. I snooze, I lose!
